Whats better when getting a monitor?

whats better to own? A widescreen monitor or a regular monitor, and if so, whats the difference between the two?

Thx

Answer:

Most games now support widescreen. Widescreen is great for spreadsheets, most CAD drawings, documents within landscape situation, movies. Widescreen is not good for reading documents contained by portrait mode or web browsing.

Some of the newer widescreen monitors allow you to rotate the eyeshade 90 degrees to portrait mode; excellent for pattern browsing and reading documents. Would be neat if they installed a motor so that you could click on an god on your taskbar and it would automatically rotate and change the display settings.

for sure a widescreen. and you'll want something next to less than 5ms rate for gaming

the difference between widescreen and regular, is a short time ago that. a WS monitor will be shorter and fatter, where a regular monitor is more square.
ably as quality go i'd say a crt (TV looking) monitor would be your best bet cuz no business what a crt will display what your computer can do, lcd's don't always dispense you that plus crt are cheaper
Surely you will want a monitor for other things besides gaming. I was shocked to find out flatscreens are to some extent limited on different resolutions. Flatscreens don't own half-dots and usually only volunteer one optimum setting before your eyes travel bleary trying to read text self displayed. I would suggest you have to check the monitor with the different software running and try different settings. To buy a monitor just on specs lead to some disappoints.
