Why is some of the correspondence on my computer adjectives messed up?

for example the start on the bottom say ?^#$* like on some of the programs resembling msn i can not read it becuase it is all wierd how do you fix this

Go to Control Panel > Regional and Language Options > Languages (Tab) > Details. Under Installed services, bring in sure that under English, below Keyboard, make sure it is US or the correct country for your baby grand.
