I only just bought a Dell Inspiron E1705 with Vista installed and whenever I resume Windows, the peak resolution changes from 1440x900 to 1024x768. I own to change it support to high resolution every time.

I have the same issue next to a desktop when I switched to a monitor that used 1440 x 900 native resolution. I changed the galvanize rate and it finally stayed put. This might work for you.
