What is an ati display driver?
Answer:
this is the software specifically for the graphics card that came near your computer. DO NOT UNINSTALL IT.
normally, u wont know how to do anything in the program. it is only just there so that your ATI graphics card will work properly.
it is software that tell your computer how to use the ati video card when it is needed.
ATI is the brand name of your video card / graphics card. And the driver is needed to brand the card work on your computer.
ATI is a manufacturer of video chips.
THe drivers give an account the OS how to talk to the video chips.
It is the software that interfaces your operating system (windows/linux/osx/solaris/bsd... etc etc etc) beside the physical hardware of your integrated/installed ATI video card.
think of it as a expressions translator
for example, your operating system speaks english, but your video card speaks chinese, the driver software is the translator
without it, the graphics run into default vesa mode where on earth everything looks washed out, and is surrounded by low color mode.

here you will be able to find your updated driver collection for your particular application.
A driver is what tell the OS how to communicate with hardware. Hardware by itself does nil, so it needs an interpreter for the OS. In this suitcase, a display driver will tell the OS how to display an figurine correctly (among other things).

Brandon
an ati display driver is a driver provided by the ATI corporation for their graphics adapters.
