I own a gateway medium center 610 and my warranty has expired. The LCD have gone completely blank and it won't display anything but the CPU is working perfectly fine. Does anyone know what section is causing the problem on my computer and if at hand is a way to replace it
Answer:
Either the backlight have burnt out, the nouns is loose or broken, or you have switched the LCD stale. Look at the keypad on the F keys. There should be an LCD push button or one with a box on it. press function and that knob at the same time and see if it comes on again. It that fail, it's the previous problems. If you hook up a regular computer monitor - does it show a picture? Then it is your Output and it's something to do with the LCD. (Cable or backlight problem) Your best bet would be to find a replacement LCD on ebay and later try that.
yes all lcd screen have a backlight and you can not avoid it but maintain it cool that is how to extend the go of any LCD Screen. but in adjectives cases they do go out.
also do you hold another screen specifically connected to your computer is that how you know it works. or is it just comming on and seem to be working. and if it is then you own a video card issue. and you can try to fix it by receating your video card and memory. some time that helps. but if you enjoy another monitor on your computer then the backlight is out on your LCD.
