I bought a used LCD monitor, I unknowingly plugged contained by (+) --C-- (-) but it should use (-) -- C -- (+) so obviously it didn't power up, what would be arranged to its own circuitry? Fried?
I do have another fitting adapter beside right polarity but it is over-rated by voltage/wattage/amp, it was one and only a test since that belong to another device.
Answer:
I would typically expect that this would not damage anything. There should be protection circuits to prevent smash up, but who knows?
Plug it surrounded by the right way round and see what happen.
Edit.
For the other adapter, over rating amps and watts is O.K. But too high a voltage rating is doomed to failure.
Hmmmm... The only path to know for sure if that fried the the circuits would be to try it out with the correct adapter.
I would not use the adapter beside the overrated voltage, why risk it further?
Just take the one you originally used, cut the output cable and splice the wires together the contrasting way to reverse the polarity of the plug. That would solve your problem.
