What new requirements do I inevitability to look for surrounded by a computer to support digital photography?

I've lately renewed my interest in photography and own gotten a digital slr. I know my old computer is not sufficient to continuously support the downloads of pictures and the programs for editing. Any give a hand on what I need to look for would be appreciated

Answer:

You don't have need of anything special regarding hardware. Any modern Mac or PC have plenty of horsepower for working digital images. I'd be thinking in the order of storage space and a backup solution. Your large DSLR similes will eat up drive space briskly and you don't want to lose them all when your drive fail, as all frozen drives eventually do.

Get a good mechanism with a 160 gb or better drive, consequently add another drive at most minuscule as large and a correct backup package such as Dantz Retrospect. You want software that will button the backups automatically. We fallible humans forget adjectives too easily! Get lots of RAM, too, probably 2 gb or so. You'll appreciate the speed boost it will provide when you are working beside big digital images.

That should endow with you a starting point. You didn't ask, but give Photoshop Elements 5 a look while you are looking at computers. I lately bought it for my daughter and am very impressed near its power and ease of use.
so you on hot pc immediately, any good workstation with alot of meory can switch it, you just obligation good software for your pics
Apple mac is the best and i own two printers for printing ( for memory cards), the programs for apple are expensive but worth it. my other half a moment ago said, windows vista is worth looking surrounded by too. you can always upgrade the memory, better to look for a untried computer, would save time and money, most computers at the present time do about everything.
