What is the difference between PC monitors, which is the best and why?
Answer:
My favorite brand is Viewsonic. I've never see a ViewSonic I've not liked. Their CRTs are crisp, and their LCDs are nice.

Don't move about for Samsung - we got one of their LCDs, and the competence is horrible. As well, we get a ViewSonic and it was brilliant. ViewSonic may be a touch more expensive than other brands, but as I said: I've never see one that has dissappointed me.
CRTs = something similar to Cathode Ray Tube, and that's like your TV (old kind). They're big and hot, but cheap. They offer really nice image though - it's not blurry or anything; deeply crisp.
LCDs = Liquid Crystal Display - like laptop screen or thin TVs... they're cooler and smaller, but the figure is harder to see + it can be blurry. Many will argue that it looks nice, but it really doesn't. A 500$ CRT owns a 500$ LCD any day, if you can find a CRT that in reality costs 500$. Still, LCDs are convenient 'cause they're so small.
Have fun!
I got a Xerox flat eyeshade. I find it a lot easier on my eyes. Somehow I don't own so many headache after long sessions behind the peak.
Get a CRT monitor of 21 inch if you want to play games or else move about for a LCD monitor of 19 inch for other purpose.
I would recommend the Samsung SyncMaster 940 TFT
It takes up much smaller quantity room than a CRT, the 19 screen give good viewing and the response time of 2ms is unyielding to beat.
The characteristic is superb.
However, you will always achieve what you pay for so it is adjectives up to you. Seach the internet for lowest prices.
Good luck.
